Recent years have seen rising interest in alternative investments in both Canada and the United States, including increasing allocations from institutional investors and new opportunities for retail investors. With rising investor interest, the regulatory and market environments also continue to evolve. Close proximity has meant many managers operate on both sides of the border – but differences remain, including regulations, investor expectations and overall market environments.
Join us for a panel presentation and a facilitated group discussion with segment leaders from CAASA, CIBC Mellon, BNY Mellon and fund managers from both sides of the border to discuss key trends in the alternatives investment space as well as market differences and similarities of the alternatives management industries in Canada and the US.
Key questions include:
- Alternative asset allocations continue to grow. What is fueling their rise?
- Asset classes are vying for position in Canada and the US. How do appetites differ across classes in Canada versus the US?
- The standards for managers are changing. What do investors want? How do needs differ across the border?
